Hi Andreas,

We’ve discussed this issue internally within our company. The final decision is that we are not planning to support this feature in the near future. However, we will still record it in our internal enhancement request system for future considerations.

In the meantime, we will close this ticket as unsupported. Thanks for your understanding!

Hi Andreas,

We will submit this ticket to our development to further analyze the issue. It will take some time to reach a conclusion. We will keep you updated!

Hi Andreas;

  Just to be on the 100% safe side, I will now transfer this ticket over to the main support / engineering team to confirm that a version of the "PBAutoBuild" is NOT in the plans for 2019R3.

Hi Chris.
Thanks for your answer.
I was thinking that PBAutoBuild210 is related to pbc210. I thought then that if this is true, it could be easy to make it compile for 2019R3. That's why I asked that enhancement. But if this is not the case, then you can go on and close that ticket. But still, It's a shame that this functionallity isn't available for pb 2019 r3.

Hi Andreas;

  Unfortunately at this time, the PBAutoBuild210 tool is designed to only work with PB2021. I do not know of any plans to extend this feature backward for PB2019R3 as the R3 release replies on the PBC external compiler. The plan going forward though is that the PBAutoBuild is the replacement for the PBC when PB Developers upgrade to 2021 or 2022 (or higher).

This is more an enhancement request. But an important one in my humble opinion.

In PB 2021, we can export a project file as a build file (in json format). Then using the PBAutoBuild210 tool we can build that project to an executable, or deploy it as powerclient or as powerserver. This is a great functionallity. And one thing that is really nice, is that we can automate "source control syncing". But this is implemented to work only with 2021 runtimes. In 2019 R3 projects, we cannot export that json file (PB 2021 doesn't show that option). But even if somehow we did create this file manually, PBAutoBuild210 tool seams not to be able to compile using pbc190 (or this function is disabled). As PB 2021 will not have an LTS, many people may choose to remain in PB 2019 R3. Even when PB 2022 will be available, we don't know how we will have to wait for an LTS version. I wonder if there is any possibility to make PBAutoBuild210 to compile projects that rely on PB 2019 R3 runtime. This can really simplify the task of automated builds.

Nothing special. It seems to be a limitation of PBAutoBuild210 tool.
