i disagree strongly.   the downside of accidently  checking the target object out instead of all objects (my proposal) is so so so minor vs the downside of accidently  checking out thousands of object when you really just want the 1 target object.  in the 2nd case not only did you have to wait and wait and wait for it to complete, then you have to wait and wait and wait to check them all back in.

If the target is under SCC and you need to check it OUT or IN, PB assumes you want to perform the operation on every single object!  It should assume you only want to do that on the 1 object (target) instead.  So have that be the default.  too easy to say yes on that.
